Affinion Group Acquires Card Cops

NORWALK, Ct -- Affinity marketing company Affinion Group announced the acquisition of CardCops.  Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

CardCops was founded in 1999 and electronically monitors the web for fraudulent activity involving customer's personal and financial information.  It then alerts the customer immediately if it detects their identity has been stolen or compromised.

The acquisition by Affinion Group will provide CardCops with more resources to gather more data.  Affinion also plans to sell these services to financial institutions.
